DJ TYTEN

About

DJ Tyten is an open‑format DJ who mixes because he genuinely enjoys it. For almost twenty years, he’s been building long‑form mixes across country, pop, rock, hip‑hop, dance, throwbacks, and themed sets—starting long before controllers or lighting rigs were part of the picture.

What began as a personal obsession turned into a catalog with its own identity: mixes built around feelings, arcs, and moments rather than just playlists. It’s not about being famous or perfect—it’s about creating something that feels good, flows right, and actually fits real people.

My Style — Something Different

I like taking familiar songs and making them feel new again. Throwbacks, oldies, forgotten tracks—anything that sparks a memory. I flip them, blend them, quickmix them, or drop them into places they don’t normally belong. Sometimes it works perfectly. Sometimes it shouldn’t work at all. That’s the fun part.

I make mixes to listen to, not just to dance to. Long‑form blends, genre jumps, mood shifts, unexpected transitions—that’s where the creativity lives. Quickmixing is one of my favorite ways to keep things moving, especially when I’m introducing new music or stitching together songs from totally different eras.

My style isn’t about following rules. It’s about trying things, breaking things, forcing combinations, and finding moments where something familiar suddenly feels fresh. That’s the whole point of Something Different.

Experience

• Nearly 20 years of mixing
• Over 100 long‑form mixes with themes, arcs, and concepts
• Created walk‑up hype mixes for a high school baseball team
• Mixed for friends, family, and private gatherings
• Comfortable adapting to requests, playlists, and different age groups

This isn’t a brand built overnight—it’s years of practice finally being given a name and a platform.

Mixes

Right now, most of my mixes live offline—long‑form blends built over years of experimenting, refining, and trying things just to see what happens.

Eventually, you’ll be able to check out select mixes on platforms like Mixcloud, YouTube, or wherever they make the most sense.

For now, this page is the home base for the DJ behind the mixes.
